The ceramic fiber strip (tape) is fabricated with ceramic fibers and reinforced by alkali-free glass filaments or high-temperature resistant stainless steel alloy wires. It contains < 15% organic materials that will burn off at high temperature. The strip has much higher tensile strength than ceramic fiber blanket, paper and board. For glass fiber reinforced strip, the continuous use temperature is 450°C (810°F). For stainless steel fiber reinforced strip, the continuous use temperature is 1000°C (1800°F). The strips can create a good heat barrier. They be used as furnace door and welding curtains, wrapping thermal insulation materials of hot pipes, chimney, heat zone separators, fuel line insulation, and sealing materials for the doors of furnace, oven and stove.
