Fused Quartz Glass
Fused quartz glass is a single component glass containing only silicon
oxide. It has high glass transition temperature and low thermal expansion.
Typical characteristics
- High chemical purity, so very good optical transmission
- High glass transition temperature
- High maximum working temperature, from 1000°C (1800°F) to
1200°C (2200°F) depending on serving conditions
- Low thermal expansion coefficient
- High thermo-shock resistance
- Excellent Electrical Insulation
